How to use this blog

Firstly a big hello for finding this blog, we are very pleased to see you and we hope you enjoy wandering our posts as much as we have enjoyed writing them.

There are a few bits of housekeeping that may make your reading more enjoyable.

Firstly, if you like what you have read and want to be kept up to date with new postings you can subscribe by email using the box on the left hand side where is says 'follow by email'.  Just pop your email address into that box and then you will receive all new posts directly into your inbox.

If you would like to 'follow' the blog this too is on the left hand side where it says 'Followers'.  You can sign in using a variety of different accounts you may already hold such as Google, Twitter,  or Yahoo, just follow the instructions when you click on the box.  If you do not want to do this and just want to receive new posts automatically then just subscribe by email as mentioned above.  If you prefer not to do either of these things you can just check back regularly to see if we have a new post, it is entirely up to you.

If you would like to leave a comment on one of our posts please do, we would love to have a conversation.  To leave a comment on a post look at the bottom of the post where it says "Posted by", you will see next to this either 'No comments' or if someone has already left a comment '1 comment' (or however many comments have been left).

Please click where it says 'No comments' and this will open up the comments box where it will invite you to Post a Comment.  Enter what it is you want to say.  You then have to choose who you are commenting as.  You will see it says "Comment as: select profile.  You will need to have an account with one of the listed profiles in order to make a comment and signing up with one of these profile providers is quite straightforward.

I am afraid we do not have an open system where anyone can leave comments or anonymously leave comments as otherwise we will have the comments pages filled up with adverts and strange links from unknown sources.  This is also why your comment will not appear immediately as it will be checked before being published.  We do not edit comments nor do we vet them to see if we agree with them, we only refuse ones that are not related to the subject matter of this blog.

Finally, if you are a member of the Leicestershire and Rutland Gardens Trust and would like to write a piece for us we would be delighted to receive it.  We welcome input from our membership on subjects that are in keeping with the objectives of the Trust.  If you want to write a piece please contact us using the contact form on the left hand side of the blog.
